Moon Magic

The moon has inspired many poets and also those who view her as symbol of magic...she is
the one who sees over spells, healing, renewal, motivation, inspiration, romance, fertility, beauty and new beginnings.

To me, the moon has always been a mystery, a focal point for meditation and the memory of many gardens made magical with moonlight could make me cry with nostalgia.

The moon has been one of the themes I use in my art, specially with the Spirit Dolls, there is so much lore related to the moon...from goddesses to legends, everything seems to be touched by moon magic. People in antiquity understood the power of the moon and its effects on people and nature. The lunar cycles, from the darkness of the New Moon to the brightness of the Full Moon illuminating our nights, these are transitions we can use as inspiration for dreaming and also for healing, as the moon gets smaller we learn to retreat, to meditate and to wait for the birth of new ideas and more creativity.

How does the moon influences your life?

Look down, fair moon, and bathe this scene;

Pour softly down night’s nimbus floods, on faces ghastly, swollen, purple;
On the dead, on their backs, with their arms toss’d wide,
Pour down your unstinted nimbus, sacred moon.

~ Walt Whitman

MOON MAGIC from MY SECRET GARDEN

Until at last, serene and proud In all the splendour of her light, She walks the terraces of cloud, Supreme as Empress of the Night...

~
Longfellow
