Sometimes a mortal feels in himself Nature
-- not his Father but his Mother stirs
within him, and he becomes immortal with her
immortality. From time to time she claims
kindredship with us, and some globule
from her veins steals up into our own... Henry David Thoreau -

For the last few days I have been gathering materials and making polymer cabs for my Harvest Series...the good part of this, I get to make 4 or 5 dolls at the same time, the challenge is not to get them to look all alike. So, I get to the end of this segment and take one doll at a time keeping in mind that each doll has its own personality and the doll itself will guide me. For those who ask me how do I go about making a doll, I have taken a few photos. (this is work in progress)

The doll is supported by drift wood and wrapped with raffia and twine net, yarn and glue. I have also used silk leaves, moss and vine twigs.

Oh, too cool! Thank you for that! I begin to see how I might make dolls on my sticks... yanno, the ones from last year that are seasoning all over my apartment, lol...

Love your work, Gris. Thank you so much for sharing it! Thank you also for being that spark I need to get BUSY... although it kinda backfired last night; I was TRYING to make your first doll, but it turned into a spirit doll of my own. *sheepish smile*
