I have been in a bit of a struggle to paint again and to finish a couple of canvases with a redwood scene which were doing quite well until I got pulled away to other places where I was needed.

It is always like this, I come back to find my paint had dried up and it is never easy to pick up where I was, so I drift into making dolls, which is my vice...because charm me with the siren songs of other worlds and I forget how rewarding is to paint.  I have valid and non so valid excuses, the fact is, it takes me forever to come back to my easel and to start all over, it is a matter of discipline, I know.

Thank goodness for inspiration, because of a blog I saw this morning, something sparked the flame and I know that somehow, I will start something new or finish those two redwood paintings.  I feel blessed with inspiration and thanks to the wonderful woman, Tammie Lee, from Spirithelpers,  who posted her photo of a mountain that I feel renewed.  Blogging is good for the soul!!

A leaf fluttered in through the window this morning,
as if supported by the rays of the sun,
a bird settled on the fire escape,
joy in the task of coffee,
joy accompanied me as I walked. ~ Anais Nin

Such a lovely painting, so full of magical light and beauty!
I am so happy that the wild beauty I captured in my photo has inspired you. Those photos were taken on the top of a high mountain. Five friends spent the night there on Monday. The weather was wild and rarely was there a view for we were tucked in rain and clouds, wind and wild. We did art all night and in the morning.

Thanks Tammie Lee, one of the reasons your mountain called me...I had painted other scenes like that in the past and they were always very rewarding. I will try to find some to show you later on.
Spending the night in the wilderness...wow...you are brave, I worry about bears :(
